For the past 5 years she has been involved in some capacity with Art City Inc, a community arts center located in the heart of West Broadway. At Art City she most recently held the position of the Studio Coordinator, but also has been a casual facilitator, Green Art Co-ordinator and has been a regular weekly volunteer. Working with participants of all ages and all skill levels is challenging and everyday brings forth some new and exciting project.
Though her preferred medium is photography, she also experiments in working with textiles, various forms of printmaking and drawing. Janessa is also is an active member of Places for Peanuts, an active art collective. The collective is formed of new and emerging Winnipeg artists who want to have fun, draw, and make their work accessible to the masses.
